OPTIPUS SOFTWARE LICENCE

1. Grant

Subject to this licence, the copyright holder grants you a limited,
non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install,
run, copy for your own use, study and modify Optipus for:

  a) personal, non-commercial use; and
  b) academic research, teaching and education that is not performed as a
     paid commercial service.

2. Commercial use requires a separate licence

You may not use Optipus for commercial or revenue-generating activities,
provide Optipus as part of a paid service, embed it in a commercial product,
deploy it for a commercial organisation's operations, or redistribute it
commercially without a separate written licence from DI Sebastian Knoll.

3. Distribution

You may not sell, sublicense, publish, host for third parties, or
redistribute Optipus or modified versions except with prior written
permission. This licence and the copyright notice must remain with any
permitted copy.

4. Third-party components

Optipus may contain or distribute third-party software. Those components
remain subject to their own licence terms. This licence does not replace,
restrict or expand those third-party rights.

5. Safety and responsibility

Optipus is general-purpose software. It is not a safety system, emergency
stop, certified controller, medical device or certified instrument. Do not
use it where a failure, incorrect output, delayed communication or loss of
connectivity could cause death, injury, environmental damage, property
damage or unacceptable process loss. You are responsible for validation,
supervision, backups, interlocks and safe operation of connected systems.

6. No warranty and limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OPTIPUS IS PROVIDED
"AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. THE COPYRIGHT
HOLDER IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR INCIDENTAL
DAMAGE, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFIT, PRODUCTION INTERRUPTION OR EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE ARISING FROM USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

Nothing in this licence excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be
excluded or limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence,
personal injury, mandatory product-liability rules or mandatory statutory
consumer rights.

7. Termination

This licence terminates automatically if you materially breach it. On
termination, stop using and delete the software and permitted copies.

8. Governing law

This licence is governed by Austrian law, subject to mandatory rights under
applicable consumer-protection law.
